My son will be older than I am now when…

Last week the House of Representatives voted 228-191 and approved the Paul Ryan budget plan.

The Ryan budget plan, also known as “The Path to Prosperity” does not project to balance the budget until the year 2040. Even that is a stretch using funny math. In fact, “The Path to Prosperity” still sees massive deficit spending in the year 2021. The year 2021 happens to be the last year that the Ryan budget plan makes projections.

Here’s the problem! My son, who is only 19 months old, will be older than I am now before we get a balanced budget according to the Paul Ryan plan. We don’t have people in Washington D.C. who really understand the problems of our spending. They are fighting for the prosperity of America? Paul Ryan is known as a “fiscal hawk” in Congress. GOD Help us! A fiscal hawk that continues deficit spending for the for seeable future. A fiscal hawk that continues to try to pass the burden down the road to others for them to handle.

Rep. Austin Scott (R GA-8) released a statement after the passage of the budget: “This is not merely a “check the box” budget. The House passed Budget cuts our debt further and faster than any in recent history and it does so while shifting control out of Washington and back to the American people.”

Wait a minute. “This plan makes cuts?” What cuts? The Plan to Prosperity increases spending over the next 10 years. Over the next 10 years the Federal government will spend $39.8 Trillion dollars. Here’s how you get political numbers from DC: When the Republicans talk of cuts they merely mean spending less than the other party plans to increase spending. What’s scary is this plan is being scoffed at by the Democrats as radical.

We have got to get people in DC that really take the debt crisis serious. That really understand what is plaguing us as a nation. The debt is the greatest threat to our national security. The debt will crush us. Out of control spending is going to destroy the value of the dollar. Prices on EVERYTHING will escalate and cause average Americans’ will live under the weight of an oppressive debt.

How long Washington…How long will you pander to special interests and ignore the interests of the American people. How long will you plunder from the work of the American people to serve special interests of a few. How long America will you slumber and put up with this? The truth is we are running out of time.

By the time Paul Ryan balances the budget I fear that my son will live in a completely different America. Balancing the budget by 2040 is a joke and I am not laughing!

At some point we must banish the thought that they aren’t doing this intentionally.
